Brody's Departure from WMTX: A Reflection and a New Chapter
After a remarkable six-year journey at iHeartMedia's AC station, Mix 100.7 WMTX Tampa, Nathan 'Brody' Halegua has bid farewell to his morning show. Brody's time at WMTX began in April 2019, co-hosting with Laura Diaz, and continued solo after her departure in September. His previous experience includes hosting nights at CHR 93.3 WFLZ, as well as on-air roles at various stations across Jacksonville, Orlando, Hartford, and Portland.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Brody expressed his gratitude for the support and connection with his listeners. He wrote, "Hanging up the headphones for a bit. My chapter at Mix has come to an end, and my heart is full as I look back on this (almost) six-year record-breaking journey. To my incredible listeners and partners, thank you. You showed up for me every morning, and I can’t tell you how much that support, laughter, and loyalty has meant. You invited me into your homes, your cars, and your routines, a privilege I’ll never take for granted."
Brody's impact on his audience is evident, as he acknowledges the joy and connection he brought to their mornings. Despite the bittersweet nature of his departure, he leaves with a sense of pride and fulfillment, having grown both personally and professionally. He concludes, "Everything happens for a reason... and I know this is just the start of a new chapter."
While WMTX has yet to reveal its morning show plans, rumors circulate of a former Tampa morning show host's potential return, with an announcement set for Thursday morning at 8 am. This development adds an intriguing layer to the story, leaving listeners curious about the future of morning radio in Tampa.
